Required Join our Property and Casualty Insurance Defense In-house Legal team. You’ll be part of a team of over 200 employees across 5 offices, including Toronto, Mississauga, Aurora, Ottawa, and Calgary. The Law Clerk will provide essential support to Alberta Bodily Injury Claims Adjusters by reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical, legal, and other relevant claims documentation related to bodily injury. This role is focused exclusively on creating clear, concise, and accurate summaries to help adjusters efficiently evaluate liability, causation, injury progression, treatment reasonableness, and overall claim exposure. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and experienced in handling sensitive personal information with discretion and professionalism. - Review and summarize medical documentation, including clinical notes and records, diagnostic reports, physiotherapy reports, specialist assessments, surgical records, and discharge summaries.
- Identify key facts relevant to claim evaluation, including mechanism of injury, pre-existing conditions, treatment timelines, functional limitations, prognosis, and red flags.
- Prepare daily written summaries in a consistent format for easy consumption by Bodily Injury Claims Adjusters.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy legislation and organizational protocols.
- Prioritize workload to meet daily and weekly summary expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with adjusters to clarify needs, adjust summary formats, and provide timely responses to information gaps.
- Support the Claims team’s goals of efficiency, accuracy, and timely claim resolution.

- Salary range : $68 449 to $100 392 per year (Downtown Toronto)
- Salary range : $65 338 to $95 829 per year (Toronto suburbs)

What You Bring To The Table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience with trials and/or hearing preparation
- Legal assistant experience
- Advanced knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Insurance Defence Litigation, with an emphasis in Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury work
- Intermediate knowledge of court and tribunal filing systems
