The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Maintenance Technician at our Head Office in Winnipeg, MB. This position requires frequent travel to our various co-op food stores and gas bars in Winnipeg and surrounding area. This position reports to the Facilities Manager. Essential responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with Red River Co-operative operational divisions to setup and execute on regular and recurring preventative maintenance activities schedule for daily, weekly, monthly and annual completion.
- Engage with Red River’s repair and maintenance ticketing system to assist in planning daily activities, complete assigned tasks, and document completed activity.
- Support regular maintenance activities at all Red River facilities that may include but are not limited to car wash maintenance activities, environmental checks, cleaning activities, device lubrication, tightening belts, servicing water softeners, maintaining small appliances, and general maintenance activities geared to ensure consistent operations.
- Maintenance of Red River properties according to seasonal requirements; cutting grass and hedges, maintaining signing, clearing snow-ice, emptying garbage, and additional support duties may be assigned.
- Other cleaning and maintenance as required.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed as well as Workplace Health and Safety standards.
- Maintain accurate, up to date and complete maintenance records.
- Ensure safety is considered in all working environments and conditions.
- Stay up to date with online safe work training, executed in acceptable and timely manners.
- Other tasks as assigned.
About You:
You have a minimum of 3 years relevant trade experience or retail store management. You are highly motivated and able to work with little to no supervision. You are disciplined, able to manage projects, organize tools and recognize tasks that need to be completed. You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, are able to solve problems, and are a self-starter who is able to work independently with little supervision.
High school diploma or GED required. Must have valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License. You are mechanically inclined. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Construction certification or designation considered as asset. Experience with minor household renovations and construction repairs considered an asset.
Working hours will primarily be Monday through Friday, however you may be required to assist occasionally on weekends and evenings (as required).
