Manufacturing General Foreman

Job Purpose
- The Manufacturing General Foreman is responsible for overseeing multiple crews and ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations within the manufacturing area. This role involves planning and coordinating work schedules, managing staff and resources, and delegating tasks effectively. The Foreman monitors safety performance, enforces compliance with codes and procedures, ensures quality standards are met and keeps projects on budget and on schedule.
- Key responsibilities include leading and developing team members, resolving workplace conflicts, and maintaining clear communication with internal support teams and senior leadership, excellent communication, sound problem solving abilities and a thorough understanding of fabrication, welding, machining and vendor negotiations.

Main Responsibilities
- Oversees and direct the work of multiple employees to ensure efficient workflow and project progress.
- Develops and manages work schedules, assigns daily tasks and adjusts plans as needed to account for material deliveries, personnel availability and customer deadlines.
- Ensures all scheduling, overtime, hours of work, and breaks comply with Alberta Employment Standards and Company policies.
- Assists with cost control by monitoring budgets and ensuring adequate staffing, tools, and materials are in place.
- Enforces quality standards and ensures all work complies with specifications and customer requirements.
- Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and manages employees and contractors, assigning projects and responsibilities accordingly
- Proactively addresses and resolves conflicts, communication issues, and technical challenges.
- Provides regular project updates, including progress reports and issue tracking, to project managers, support teams, and leadership
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities
- To comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
- Ensure all accidents / incidents / near misses / hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is complete.

EXPERIENCE, Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage teams including employees and contractors to achieve operational goals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long-range plans and establish structured methods to meet project objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining processes.
- Skilled in evaluating and applying best practices in manufacturing operations.
- Expertise in manufacturing procedures and proper selection and use of equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in supervising a manufacturing team.
Personal Qualities
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional team members.
