Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our leadership team as Director of Care. This hybrid role involves office-based work, remote administrative duties, and in-home client assessments and caregiver supervision. The Director of Care will play a central role in developing care operations, supporting caregivers, building client relationships, and representing Senior Helpers throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
Client Care & Clinical Oversight
- Conduct in-home client assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide clinical oversight and ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Maintain communication with clients and families to ensure satisfaction and continuity.
- Update care plans as client needs evolve.
Caregiver Recruitment, Training & Supervision
- Lead caregiver recruitment, on-boarding, and training.
- Provide coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing supervision.
- Support employee retention and foster a strong team culture.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee scheduling, coordination, and daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and best practices.
- Support process improvements as the company grows.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all client and care activities.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Represent the organization at community events, networking meetings, and health fairs.
- Build relationships with healthcare professionals and community partners.
- Support local marketing and caregiver recruitment initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in British Columbia.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in home care, community health or geriatrics.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and operational skills.
- Comfortable with hybrid work (office, remote, community, and in-home visits).
- Confident with public speaking and community networking.
- Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a startup environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
