The Investment and Trade Division within the Department of Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation is seeking to fill the term position of Clinical Trials Lead.
The Government of Manitoba offers a complete and comprehensive benefit package which includes paid vacation, extended health, health spending, dental/drug/vision, long term disability, supportive employment program, maternity/parental leave, defined pension plan (some pension plans allow for portability between the Civil Service Superannuation Board and employers).

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Must be able to travel nationally or internationally via motorized vehicle, airplane and/or train with access to valid 5F Manitoba Driver’s License

Must be able to work outside regular office hours, as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary education (preferably at the graduate level). An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered
- Understanding and working knowledge of the bioscience sector and clinical trials
- Political acumen demonstrated through experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics and sensitive issues
- Experience leading projects from the design, research, and analysis stages to presentation and final recommendation including but not limited to market analyses
- Experience translating strategic priorities into clear operational plans and experience with strategic performance management and measurement systems (e.g. Key Performance Indicators, Balanced Scorecards)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders by building rapport to obtain objectives and resolving conflict as required
- Experience working in a team environment and leading/coordinating cross functional teams.
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through experience drafting briefing material, presentations, marketing materials or authority seeking documents
- Excellent verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives for the purpose of decision-making and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage competing demands within tight timelines
Duties:
To strengthen Manitoba’s position as a leader in the bioscience sector, the Clinical Trials Lead will serve as a connector and navigator for industry contacts for clinical trial activities across the province, with a focus on economic development, investment attraction, and interdepartmental collaboration.
The Clinical Trials Lead will coordinate clinical trials within the broader economic development mandate, helping to attract domestic and international investment and provides a central point of contact for industry, government, academia, and healthcare institutions, improving coordination, problem-solving and communication.
