About the role
Overview The Assistant Superintendent supports the Site Superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities for multi‑family, residential, and commercial projects. This role helps maintain project schedules, quality standards, and safety compliance while coordinating workers, subcontractors, and materials to ensure efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities Assist the Superintendent in planning, coordinating, and managing day‑to‑day site operations to keep the project on schedule. Supervise and coordinate trades, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring work aligns with project specifications and construction standards. Monitor site work for compliance with building codes, engineering practices, safety policies, and contract requirements. Track materials, tools, and equipment; ensure availability and proper use on site. Conduct quality control inspections to confirm workmanship meets required standards. Maintain daily documentation, including logs, reports, safety records, and progress updates. Participate in construction meetings and assist in resolving on‑site issues, changes, or scheduling conflicts. Support enforcement of safety programs, site rules, and corrective actions where required.
Qualifications Experience in residential or multi‑family construction in a supervisory or assistant supervisory capacity. Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, and quality standards. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Effective communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
