About The Role
This role is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales department. This Management role is responsible for ongoing planning and collaboration with other department leaders; executing on objectives, goals and growth strategies; ensuring compliance with process and procedures; motivating and coaching team members for performance; improving efficiencies; driving sales and championing the customer experience.
What We're Looking For

Lead the acquisition of used vehicle inventory through all channels (auctions, trade-ins, direct purchasing) to maintain optimal stock levels.

Determine and implement dynamic pricing strategies based on market conditions, competitor analysis, and valuation data to maximize Gross Profit (GP) per unit.

Establish and manage monthly sales volume, Gross Profit (GP), and inventory turn goals in coordination with the General Manager.

Oversee daily inventory aging, manage reconditioning costs, and utilize vehicle history reporting to maintain inventory value and lot display.

Partner with HR on staffing, training, and fostering a high-morale, high-performance sales culture.

Track daily sales consultant performance (GP, volume, and CSI) and conduct regular one-on-one coaching and motivation sessions.

Ensure strict adherence to all sales processes, including precise trade appraisal procedures and accurate, timely completion of compliance documentation.

Work with Marketing and Executives to manage budgets and execute effective used vehicle promotions and campaigns.

Lead by example in delivering high-quality, transparent customer service and promptly resolving all escalated used vehicle complaints.

Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitor pricing, and brand-specific training programs.
What You'll Bring

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills essential for effective team leadership and customer/vendor negotiations.

Proven ability to manage and resolve escalated customer complaints and conflicts professionally and efficiently.

Strong critical thinking skills for proactively identifying and solving complex inventory, pricing, and process issues.
-
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail for managing compliance documentation (e.g., OMVIC) and administrative tasks.

Demonstrated ability to drive results, meet financial targets, and maintain accountability for the Used Car department's P&L.

Willingness to be flexible and open to change, including working scheduled evening and weekend shifts as required by the business.

Excellent time management skills, ensuring punctuality and efficient prioritization of daily responsibilities.

Advanced proficiency in basic computer applications and experience using dealership management systems (DMS) such as 180, TMS, and ADP.
-
Consistently maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude, leading the team by example.

Possess a valid driver’s license and all mandatory industry licensing (e.g., OMVIC).
