The opportunity:

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Surgical Education and Program Director(s), the position is responsible for the overall administration and support of the Surgery Undergraduate Program and assigned Postgraduate Residency Program.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institute plus four years of directly related experience.
  • Medical terminology an asset.
  • Two to five years of experience in administration of a medical education program (UGME or PGME) in a University Clinical Department position. Knowledge of University and/or Shared Health policies and procedures are considered an asset.
  • Experience in Entrada Curriculum Management is required.
  • Extensive experience preferred in:
  • Scheduling large numbers of students or staff and rotational schedules across multiple program and functional areas
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working independently with a strong initiative to complete and follow up on tasks.
  • Scheduling large volumes of meetings, other events, or interviews at once.
  • Experience in Entrada Curriculum Management is required.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered*.*
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with professional staff is required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate intermediate proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Access programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Diplomatic and proactive with ability to problem-solve; complete tasks with accuracy; and capable of working with a high level of autonomy and minimal supervision is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Good judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential matters is required.
  • Ability to set priorities within the scope of responsibility and ensure deadlines are met and projects/tasks completed in a timely fashion.
  • Proven ability in committee responsibility including minute taking is required.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
  • Previous experience with curriculum management systems is an asset.
