Principal Pool: Catholic Elementary School

The London region is one of the fastest growing areas in Canada, and we are proud that the LDCSB is the fastest growing school board in the province! We are seeking several qualified Catholic elementary school educators to join our Principal pool.

We are one of the largest employers in the region, with over 4,700 staff working together to educate approximately 28,000 students. We currently have 44 elementary schools and 9 secondary schools, with several new schools pending.

Qualifications

  • Ontario School Principal's Certificate – Part 1 completed (preferred) or in progress as of the start date of an appointment and Part 2 completed, in progress or a commitment to take it. The Board may consider exceptional candidates who have the requisite requirements met to commence PQP part 1 upon appointment to the pool.
  • Part 1 - Religious Education or Equivalent (required). Specialist (preferred).
  • Part 1 - Special Education (required) or Special Education for Administrators AQ (preferred).
  • Internal candidates must have completed our Leadership Series program or be currently enrolled. The LDCSB has revised the expectations for our Catholic Leadership Journey through our Leadership Series programs to ensure our leaders fully understand the level of expectation and accountability required to be a successful leader in our board.

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years recent in-person teaching experience in the elementary panel is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at a school and/or system level.

In accordance with Board Policy (G 2.4), Selection and Appointment of Principals and Vice Principals, applicants who meet the above qualifications are required to provide a complete application to be considered.

A complete application package must include:

  • Completed self assessment tool ( )
  • Commitment to Catholic Education for Aspiring Leaders form ( )
  • External candidates must provide a copy of their Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate

Applicants are to provide the names and contact information of two professional references, one being the applicant’s immediate supervisor.

Salary and Terms

Salary and terms will be in accordance with the current Terms and Conditions for Principals and Vice Principals. Successful candidates must be prepared to accept assignments at schools located throughout the LDCSB.
