Job Description
The Department of French at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream position in African and Caribbean Francophone Literature. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on July 1, 2024.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and publish in the field of African and Caribbean Francophone Literature.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in French and Francophone literature.
- Supervise graduate students and contribute to the academic community.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in French or a related field.
- A strong record of research and publication in African and Caribbean Francophone literature.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with interdisciplinary approaches to literature.
- Ability to teach courses in both French and English.
Other Relevant Details
- The successful candidate will be expected to engage in service to the department and the university.
