Analyst, Biomechanics

30 Forensic Engineering is one of Canada’s largest and most respected multi-disciplinary forensic firms. We serve a wide range of industries including Insurance, Manufacturing, Legal, Construction, Health Care, Commercial and Residential Property, Financial, Government, Hospitality, Mining, Renewable Energy, and Transportation.
Purpose:
Reporting to a senior member of the Biomechanics team, the Analyst will support the investigation and technical analysis of injury mechanisms in forensic matters. This is a technical and analytical role focused on document review, case analysis, site examinations, laboratory testing, data analysis, and report preparation.
Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed review and analysis of medical records, incident documentation, photographs, and other case materials

Perform literature reviews and background research to support biomechanical opinions
-
Plan, execute and assist with site examinations, inspections, and evidence documentation

Design and conduct laboratory-based impact and human movement testing and related biomechanical experiments
-
Perform biomechanical calculations and assist with computational modeling and simulation activities
-
Analyze data sets and interpret findings under the guidance of senior staff

Prepare figures, charts, models, and visual materials to support technical conclusions
-
Assist in drafting technical reports based on sound investigation and analysis

Track assignments and support effective file management, including budgeting and timelines Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Biomechanics, Biomechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field

Experience with tissue testing, measurement of human movement and/or computational biomechanics
-
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
-
Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
