About the role
As a Senior Manager, Crisis Simulations, you will play an instrumental role in promoting the continued growth and excellence of the Crisis Simulation Centre of Excellence (CoE).
This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role

Lead the planning, design and delivery of CoE testing exercises.

Develop exercise run of play, scenarios, injects and artefacts, identify innovative delivery channels.
-
Lead cross functional design teams involving members from across CDIC, as well as with representatives from the federal safety net agencies, foreign and domestic regulatory counterparts, and other external stakeholders where appropriate.

Proactively identify areas for potential future testing, and prepare exercise proposals for the Management Risk Committee. Coordinate with MRC members and make presentations to the MRC as needed.

Identify and communicate findings and recommendations from exercises to business owners and senior executive team – working with relevant teams/stakeholders to determine action items.

Advance tools to monitor, report and validate the progress on recommendations stemming from simulation exercises and live events.

Work closely with crisis management teams to support deployment of resiliency programs (training), ensuring internal resources identified as crisis surge capacity are appropriately cross-trained.

Represent CoE in domestic and international forums, and participate in developing crisis simulation best practice literature and presentations.

Oversee the work of the Analyst, Crisis Simulations, contributing to their professional development through ongoing coaching.

Required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Advanced degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or undergraduate degree in a related field with minimum of 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Strong experience in any of the following: risk management, crisis management, regulatory frameworks, contingency planning.

Strong knowledge of risk management practices and concepts, and risk-related regulatory frameworks.

Financial certification such as CPA, CFA, FRM or equivalent is considered an asset.
Must have
Language Requirements: English Essential
Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
