Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Safety, Fleet and Trades Training (SFTT), this position is a lead role in the development,
implementation, enhancement, and promotion of a centralized approach to Business Unit planning, business support services, and
enterprise safety initiatives. This role provides direct support to the Senior Leadership Team of People, Safety, Health and Wellness
(PSHW) to ensure intended value is delivered through our strategic enterprise initiatives, including the alignment of safety objectives
with enterprise priorities.
This position will lead or be a key contributor to various teams on cross-functional business matters including planning, strategy,
reporting, standardization of processes, and optimization, with a strong emphasis on embedding safety into business planning and
decision-making. The role will encourage the adoption of new ways of working and support the Business Unit in embracing a
digital-first mindset, while also leading initiatives and promoting continuous improvement to enhance safety performance and
workforce well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Lead development of the People, Safety, Health and Wellness Business Plan, including the facilitation of planning sessions
with the VP, Directors, and Managers; application of standard enterprise templates and tools; and ensuring safety and health
priorities and performance measures are clearly identified and integrated.
- Manage Executive Leadership Team initiated and Business Unit strategic projects, using project management
methodologies and tools, from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget, and providing regular
status updates to stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and improve systems and processes to support performance measurement and business review
processes, including strategic and operational reporting of initiative KPIs related to safety, health, environment, and
continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the Business Unit Planner for People Safety, Health and Wellness by developing and maintaining Business Unit goals,
initiatives, and updates, and supporting the Vice President in preparation for monthly Executive Leadership Team meetings
focused on enterprise strategy and progress.
- Serve as the Business Unit Representative for Digital & Technology (D&T), acting as the primary point of contact to coordinate
technology requests, understand implemented enterprise digital solutions, confirm business priorities and sponsorship, ensure
complete and accurate intake information, and communicate solution options, timelines, and resource requirements back to
the Business Unit.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative approach to
Business Unit planning.
- Facilitate and support development of divisional and department level business plans and processes as required.
- Lead and participate in the research, development, and implementation of various strategic initiatives and best management
practices to drive continuous improvement and enhance safety and health outcomes.
- Implement and oversee operational and/or digital transformation (operational excellence/process improvement) initiatives,
ensuring changes enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and supports safe work practices.

- Mentor and train team members in project management methodologies, ensuring the consistent application of process

Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in a related discipline (e.g. Business Administration) from an institute of recognized standing plus five
years of directly related experience;
OR
- A two-year diploma in a related discipline from an institute of recognized standing plus seven years of directly related
experience.
- Experience working in a strategy and/or enterprise planning role in a complex, dynamic business environment with an
extensive understanding of project management and change management.
- Proven demonstrable experience and knowledge of concepts, principles, standards and practices of strategic planning,
project management, change management, structured decision making, and process improvement to deliver organizational
and business value.
- Results driven and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, tight deadlines, and constraints, while
adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to foster an innovative and agile mindset, encouraging experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in implementing digital solutions to enhance business processes and improve employee experience,
coupled with a strong understanding of digital transformation principles and the ability to leverage technology to drive
organizational change.
- Ability to reimagine business processes, systems, tools, and ways of working.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to evaluate initiatives and justify business cases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
and strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization with a proven ability to present findings and
actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively across a broad network of stakeholders.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $48.74-$67.29 Hourly,
$93,398.24-$128,947.78 Annually.
