Position Overview

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada is seeking a Project Manager. This role will lead the planning and execution of manufacturing-related activities required to transition production into the new facility. Working closely with Industrialization, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality and Facilities teams, the Project Manager will ensure that equipment, layouts, utilities, and production systems are delivered and aligned with construction milestones.

This is a high-impact role within a once-in-a-generation facility build that will shape the future of De Havilland’s aircraft manufacturing operations in canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans aligned with facility construction milestones.
  • Coordinate industrial layout definition, equipment procurement, and installation activities.
  • Identify and manage long-lead equipment and critical path items.
  • Ensure manufacturing requirements are incorporated into facility design and construction.
  • Work cross-functionally with Industrialization, Methods, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT to ensure production readiness.
  • Support commissioning, equipment validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and risks for assigned scope.
  • Prepare regular status updates for executives and escalate impediments to milestones as required.
  • Collaborate with De Havilland Field Inc., contractors, and external vendors to ensure alignment between facility readiness and manufacturing installation plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, industrial project management, or capital equipment implementation.
  • PMP certification considered an asset.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects in production or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft assembly, aerostructures, machining, or industrial manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • On-time release of manufacturing layouts aligned to facility design milestones.
  • Timely procurement and installation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Seamless coordination between facility construction and industrial installation.
  • Successful commissioning and transition to production operations.
  • Delivery within approved budget and schedule targets.
