Position: Custodial Services Training Program Teacher
Dates: November 10, 2025 to January 22, 2026 (Monday-Friday - 8:30 am to 1:30 pm)
Location: Giffard Centre, 1003 Giffard Street, Whitby, L1N 2S3
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Certificate of Qualification - Certificate of Qualification (must be in good standing)
- Teaching Experience in Technological Education
Desired:
- Formal Training and/or Experience in Teaching Adults in an Educational Setting
- Custodial Experience
- Current Health and Safety Certifications
Responsibilities:
In-school training November 10, 2025, to January 22, 2026 (Monday to Friday 5 hours per day, 5 days per week).
The instructor/coordinator is expected to deliver both the theoretical and practical components of the program.
THEORY
- Deliver the Custodial Services Emphasis Course, Technological Education curriculum and the Custodial Services Training Curriculum with a focus on safety practices
- Provide appropriate assessments and evaluations pertaining to the curriculum
- Monitor students’ progress in the course and provide timely and descriptive feedback
PRACTICAL
- Coordinate program safety certifications and guest speakers
- Coordinate cooperative education placements for students registered in the program
Rate of Pay:
Will be paid according to the Continuing Education hourly rate, $57.84/hour, as per the current collective agreement for each designated day of the program.
