About the role

The Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining core enterprise applications that support the organization’s IT service delivery. These applications are essential for internal IT operations but are not typically accessed directly by non-IT staff. This includes Azure identity and access management, communication platforms, service management tools, InTune endpoint management, security solutions, and infrastructure monitoring. The role also shares responsibility for platforms supporting configuration, operations, asset, and change management.

Additionally, the Enterprise Systems Administrator will oversee the administration of Citrix virtual desktop infrastructure and related access management systems. Responsibilities include data analysis to support system operations, maintenance, and reporting, as well as contributing to the development and testing of small-scale projects as assigned by IT leadership.

  • Plan, test, and deploy updates, patches, and enhancements to enterprise applications, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to change management processes.
  • Administer and maintain Azure cloud based systems related to user identity and endpoint configuration (Intune).
  • Manage and support virtual application and desktop environments to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing access to business-critical applications.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications and provide strategic recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in configuring and deploying enterprise applications for small-scale projects as identified by the Junior Project Manager, IT.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users of enterprise applications and virtual environments, helping to define evolving requirements.
  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or at least 5 years of relevant systems administration experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing virtual desktop environments required.
  • Industry certifications in relevant technologies are considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in database development, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools.
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications across various domains such as identity management, communication, service management, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to create custom reports using reporting tools.
  • Understanding of web hosting platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies is an asset.
  • Knowledge of thin client hardware and support for remote access environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to support IT operations and initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage support across multiple locations.
  • Analytical skills to translate user needs into technical solutions.
  • A successful criminal records check is required prior to employment.

Salary for this position ranges from $57.85/hr-$70.28/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, disability insurance, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan. This position is located on-site in Hay River, NT. Relocation assistance may be provided.

NTPC's facilities include hydroelectric, diesel, and LNG (liquified natural gas) generation plants, transmission systems and numerous isolated electrical distribution systems. NTPC also owns and operates alternative energy assets used for the supply of residual heat, solar power and co-generation.

The Corporation’s systems serve a population of approximately 43,000 in an area of 1.3 million square kilometers. Many of the communities NTPC serves are only accessible by air, barge or winter road.
