About the role
Overview The Supply Chain Project Manager will manage the development of engineering analysis and implementation of engineering projects to direct ongoing continuous improvement and solve supply chain problems in warehousing, transload, cross-dock, and transportation operations. Provides regular and proactive communications to customers and NFI management. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- As part of our engineering career path progression, the SCE III level will demonstrate advanced subject-matter- expertise in at least (1) core technical engineering competency spanning dedicated fleet design, warehouse design, labor modeling/LMS, or Lean/Six Sigma.
- Leads the successful completion of complex engineering design projects and analysis applying engineering supply chain methodologies and tools
- Identifies process gaps and recommends and implements process improvement
- Establishes and implements performance KPIs, measures, and data analytics
- Leads ongoing proactive continuous improvement for NFI working with operations and the customer
- Makes engineering design and supply chain strategy recommendations
- Effectively interacts with customers and operational leaders
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Business Degree is required. BS Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.
- 2-5+ years of professional work experience in the following areas: engineering design in supply chain, transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling/automation equipment, & supply chain technology
- Business acumen knowledge around financial, project management, and implementations of 3PL business
- Strong knowledge of warehousing operations and transportation operations
- Routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software experience
- Facility layout, MHE, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools experience
- Lean Six Sigma experience in a facilitator, coach, or trainer capacity. Kaizen workshop leader
- Effective Interpersonal and Communications skills are required
- Data management and manipulation skills. Programming skills to manipulate large data-sets
- Database skills, especially through SQL, Access, or Alteryx
- Travel: up to 25% (based on needs of the business and project schedules)
Preferred
- Lean Six Sigma credentials/certifications. Greenbelt+ level preferred.
- Experience training or developing others with engineering methods, technology, and tools
- Top 25 Global 3PL experience / Fortune 500 company experience
- Business management consulting experience and/or 3PL sales/business development experience
- Experience with warehousing, network, or transportation simulation tools and technologies
- Experience with IT development: SQL developer, API/EDI development, Adv MS Access developer
- Knowledge in: VBA, Python, R, Matlab, Java, C++, or C# is a major plus
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certifications. Manufacturing experience and credentials
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and skill set working with engineering methodologies and tools to solve complex supply chain problems.
