####Reality Capture & Field Data Collection

  • Assist with terrestrial laser scanning and drone-based LiDAR data acquisition in industrial environments.
  • Support field setup, control, and operation of scanning equipment (e.g., FARO, Leica) and UAV systems.
  • Follow established workflows and safety procedures during field operations.
  • Travel to client sites across Atlantic Canada as required.

####Point Cloud Processing & Data Registration

  • Process raw laser scan data, including registration, alignment, and quality control of point clouds.
  • Organize and manage large datasets for efficient use in downstream applications.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data in accordance with project requirements.

####3D CAD Modeling & Deliverables

  • Work within CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to generate models, drawings, and as-built representations from scan data.
  • Assist in developing client deliverables including 2D drawings, 3D models, and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to extract dimensional and geometric information from point clouds.

####Engineering & Project Support

  • Support Mechanical Integrity and Structural Engineering teams by providing accurate scan-based data.

  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.

  • Work closely with senior staff to ensure deliverables meet client and project specifications.

  • Diploma in Mechanical CAD, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or a related program (NSCC or equivalent preferred)

  • Exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks

  • Interest in 3D scanning, surveying, or geomatics technologies (hands-on exposure considered an asset)

  • Strong attention to detail with solid data organization skills

  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

  • Willingness to travel and work in industrial field environments (approximately 20% field / 80% office)

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with laser scanning or point cloud processing software (e.g., FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, Recap)
  • Familiarity with UAV/drone operations or LiDAR systems
  • Exposure to industrial environments such as oil & gas, power generation, or infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of surveying principles and coordinate systems
