Job Title: Summer Camp Coordinator (Canada Summer Job)

Employment Type: Canada Summer Jobs – Temporary Summer Position

Job Summary:

The Summer Camp Coordinator supports the Camp Director in planning, organizing, and delivering daily camp activities for children and youth. The Coordinator assists with program administration, ensures a safe and positive environment for campers, and helps lead staff and volunteers. This position provides valuable experience in leadership, communication, event planning, child supervision, and community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in planning weekly camp schedules, activities, and themes.
  • Prepare program materials, supplies, and activity instructions.
  • Help coordinate field trips, special events, and guest sessions.
  • Support the development of new activities that enhance learning, engagement, and fun.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain attendance records, activity logs, and registration information.
  • Assist with preparing reports, program documentation, and communication materials.
  • Help manage camp supplies inventory and track program expenses under supervision.
  • Support program evaluation by collecting feedback from campers, parents, and staff.

Camper Support & Supervision

  • Help supervise campers during activities, transitions, break times, and outings.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children and youth.
  • Support staff and volunteers by helping facilitate activities and resolving minor issues.
  • Report any concerns to the Camp Director promptly.

Communication & Community Engagement

  • Assist in communicating schedules, reminders, and updates to parents.
  • Help promote camp activities through newsletters, posters, or social media (if applicable).
  • Collaborate with community partners or guest facilitators to enhance program delivery.

Skill Development (CSJ Requirement)

The candidate will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Event planning and coordination
  • Record-keeping and administrative systems
  • Workplace professionalism and time management

CSJ Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be 15–30 years old at the start of employment.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection.
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
