Who We're Looking For We are looking for an exceptionally talented and experienced Sr. Developer, Backend to architect, build, and scale mission critical distributed systems. This is a high ownership role focused on designing cloud native, microservices based platforms capable of high throughput, sub second latency, and world class reliability. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Digital partners, and a cross functional scrum team to create innovative, customer centric solutions. As part of a fast moving development team, you will play a key role in delivering seamless and delightful experiences for our customers.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy high performance, scalable backend applications and services.
- Champion system architecture, ensuring cohesive integration across technologies and platforms.
- Apply Domain Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and other modern engineering patterns.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement platform level security, vulnerability scanning, and compliance best practices.
- Ensure security by design, including OAuth2, JWT, OIDC, encryption in transit/at rest, and secure secrets management.
- Build high quality software using modern programming languages, frameworks, and third party libraries.
- Rapidly prototype new concepts using a variety of development techniques.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to internal teams, consultants, and partners.
- Own backend services end to end from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong expertise in Java 18+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
- 5 - 7+ years of experience with Java/J2EE, JSP, REST/SOAP services, Spring Boot, GitHub, Artifactory.
- 2 - 4+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB Cosmos DB).
- Hands on knowledge of Docker, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Azure DevOps, Nginx, and Unix (preferred).
- Experience building and operating cloud based solutions on Azure and/or AWS, nice to have knowledge on knowledge of Azure DataBricks, ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory.
- Ability to quickly prototype product ideas using a variety of design and developmnt tools.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot for accelerated development.
- Good understanding of AI technologies (Microsoft OpenAI, Google Gemini, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Atlassian suite).
- Experience with observability, operational and analytics tools (Dynatrace, Quantum Metric, Adobe Analytics, etc.).
- Strong organizational, estimation, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to mentor others, collaborate across functional teams, and facilitate productive working sessions.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Flexible, adaptive, and a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities effectively, and take full ownership of deliverables.
