Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a Co-op Student in our Vancouver office.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibility is to work as part of our project team, with your voice added to that of the team, under the guidance and mentorship of your more senior peers. Responsibilities will be diverse and may range from the preparation of design drawings, studies, research, presentation materials, models, and technical drawings.
- Conduct basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, standards, codes, building program and other similar material.
- Support project team in development of design documentation.
- Assist in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Participate in constructability reviews.
- Participate in Bluebeam sessions and helps resolve markups in Revit.
- Support the specifications process and reviews proposed products to align with the design intent.
- Support project managers as a project coordinator and or deputy PM.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam; prefer experience with Newforma and wireless modeling software.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Detail oriented team player and the ability to work independently.
- Understanding or willingness to learn about building information and communication systems including telecommunications structured cabling, electronic security systems, audio-visual systems, and intelligent integration systems.
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in the engineering or engineering related discipline co-op or equivalent post-secondary program with availability for an 8-month internship.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
- Locations in Lower Mainland – $23.37-32.07/hr
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
