Lab Assistant
We are seeking four Lab Assistants for the 2026 harvest season from mid-August to mid-December. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing routine testing of grain samples.
What you’ll do
Prepares daily samples for inspection. Sorts and files all required documents and samples. Records results in logbook and maintains record of samples and data logs. Maintains cleanliness of the lab including equipment, floors and counters. May assist with receiving, sorting and distributing grain samples. Perform routine testing of malt germinations, falling number of wheat and rye, and immunoassay of mycotoxins, protein, sizing, and test weights of malt barley.
What you bring to our team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail oriented and proven organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment. Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations. Grade 12 or equivalent. Previous experience working in a lab is an asset.
