As a Business Intelligence Manager, with a Data Science focus, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of advanced analytical solutions supporting the profitable growth strategies of our various P&C insurance portfolios. Known as Risk Assist, these solutions are used in the underwriting process to help with decision-making, automate actions in our insurance systems, feed various analytical tools, and monitor our results. You will collaborate with our P&C Insurance Solutions partners by supporting them in their strategies through the alignment and execution of predictive modeling and data science best practices. You will lead a talented team and contribute to their development while overseeing complex technical projects.
As a Business Intelligence Manager, with an API Management focus, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of advanced analytical solutions in the organization's Application Programming Interfaces (API). You will ensure best practices in application development and execute their deployment, in alignment with the target architecture strategy of the Business Intelligence and Data Office departments. You will supervise a team of data integration specialists and work closely with the team of data scientists to ensure alignment between the development of analytical models and their implementation in our systems.
How you will create impact:

Develop and manage performing teams by recruiting, training, coaching, assessing, motivating, and supporting.

Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring the development of the technical aspects of Data Science and/or API Management expertise.

Manage BI projects and operations by setting and communicating goals, measuring progress, addressing issues, and solving problems (including technical problems escalated by your staff).

Responsible for the quality and effectiveness of outcomes by ensuring that standards and policies are followed, and the intended outcomes of those policies are met (data quality, accuracy, performance, security, etc.).

Represent your team in project planning and scrums with business partners.

Translate business needs into specific objectives for your team and communicate progress to stakeholders.

You have a proven experience (5+ years) in developing and/or implementing Predictive Models and Advanced Analytics solutions.

You have a bachelor's or advanced degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent technical experience.

You can lead others to solve complex problems through analytical thinking, tools, and judgement to identify innovative solutions.

You have experience in R, Python, SQL and AI APIs and services.

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
