Site Security Supervisor - Squamish
Our Site Supervisor at this healthcare facility in Squamish is responsible for site security operations, and the supervision and direction of all Security Officers assigned to the site, including training and site orientation of all new officers.
Start Date: Sept 2, 2025
Shifts: Monday-Friday, 0800hrs-1600hrs
Pay: $28-29/hour
Status: Permanent, Full-Time
This role is based in Squamish and relocation will not be provided to external candidates at this time. Only local candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the security officers assigned to the site and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with Paladin, client and regulatory requirements
- Ensure staffing levels for the site are sufficient by collaborating with the manager and HR, and conducting final site interviews for all potential team members
- Conduct site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period
- Monitor and document performance of officers, providing mentorship and coaching as required
- Supervise and assist all regular officers with responsibilities delegated to them
- Ensure adherence of guidelines and standards for security staff, including regular inspection of officers' Security Licenses and corresponding escalation for any non-compliance
- Maintain site and training schedules, ensuring that all shifts are covered, and that our software is updated accordingly
- Arrange coverage for any open shifts due to vacations, last-minute book-offs, medical emergencies, etc.
- Conduct investigations and perform appropriate follow-ups when incidents occur as required
- Ensure all reports are completed, and each officer submits complete and accurate reports; follow up with inaccuracies or omissions
- Perform site patrols and desk duty, complete reports, respond to emails in a timely manner, and respond to all necessary calls
- Compile monthly deliverables, documenting site activities for remittance to the client
- Schedule and conduct regular system tests, fire drills and security education sessions without fail, and maintain records
- Prepare incident reports and other safety and security incident documentation
- Remain on-call for escalated site issues or incidents
- Adhere to the values of Trauma Informed Care, Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and act as a resource to our officers on these values
- Other duties as required to meet operational needs
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of security experience, or a combination of experience and relevant education
- Prior work experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role would be an asset
- Must currently hold an Intermediate First Aid (IFA) certificate and be willing to complete re-certification as required
- Experience in Trauma Informed Care and Indigenous Cultural Safety would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on fire safety, building codes, security, and protection of privacy
- Strong leadership, delegation, and supervision
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective and professional communication, both written and verbal
- Professionalism in all situations, utilizing interpersonal skills and client service
- Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
