This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced aviation quality professional to join a well-established MRO organisation operating on a global scale. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance and operational excellence across avionics maintenance and component repair activities. The Role
Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will lead the Quality Control function, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations while supporting maintenance, manufacturing and component repair operations.
You'll work closely with Engineering, Production and senior stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and airworthiness.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop the Quality Control team, including certification personnel. Ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), company procedures and industry standards. Oversee receiving inspections, in process inspections, final inspections, independent inspections and functional testing. Review and approve maintenance releases, technical records and traceability documentation. Provide quality oversight for aircraft maintenance, avionics modifications, manufacturing and component repair activities. Lead internal quality audits and support regulatory, customer and OEM audits. Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and deliver technical and certification training programmes. Promote Safety Management System (SMS) principles throughout the organisation. Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production and customers to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
About You
To be successful within this position you will ideally possess
Valid Canadian AME-E Licence. Minimum of 10 years' experience within avionics maintenance, inspection or component overhaul. Previous ACA, SCA, MCA or equivalent certification authority experience. Leadership experience managing quality, inspection or maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), AMO requirements and airworthiness regulations. Experience with quality systems, regulatory compliance, technical documentation and internal audits. Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and MRO quality systems would be highly advantageous. Excellent leadership, communication, coaching and decision making skills.
Experience Required
Previous experience within an aircraft maintenance or MRO environment. Hands on experience with avionics installations, modifications and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of maintenance releases, configuration control and continued airworthiness. Experience supporting regulatory and customer audits. Proven ability to drive process improvement and operational excellence.
