We Invite Applications For The Position Of

  • We invite applications for the position of Administrative Assistant - Inclusive Education, 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • The current rate of pay is $30.32 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
  • Please note this temporary position will end June 30, 2026 or upon return of the incumbent.
  • Shut-down / Start-up hours are temporary hours which are worked during the summer break (from Canada Day to Labour Day) and cannot be carried over into the next school year.

Qualifications Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of an office administration program certificate; typing speed of 50 wpm; proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; minimum of two years of current clerical experience, preferably within a school district; familiarity with student designations as determined by the Ministry of Education; experience in the use of relevant office equipment; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities Duties are performed under the supervision of the District Principal/Vice Principal/Director of Inclusive Education or designate; prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and other necessary material using appropriate word processing equipment; assists with preparation and maintenance of highly confidential district student records and related paperwork; receives and releases assessment reports or other confidential documentation in accordance with ministry and district standards; uploads nonconfidential reports, including Kindergarten transition documents to the district's student information system; enters inclusion records into the district's student information system and ensures inclusion records at district schools are up to date; compiles and processes staff documents including the processing and verification of staff attendance and replacement through the district Attendance Management System and other necessary reporting forms as required; processes referrals and Ministry of Designation requests for the Inclusive Education Department; processes district psychological, behavioural and emotional assessment reports; organizes district professional development workshops on behalf of the Inclusive Education Department; uploads and coordinates Assistive Technology forms (load requests, security usage plans, approvals, etc.; performs telephone and reception duties; processes incoming and outgoing mail and other material; assists with other office duties as directed by the principal or senior clerical staff; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
