Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. (EMA- TSX), is responsible for operating and maintaining the 500-megawatt HVdc Maritime Link Project. The Maritime Link transmits energy between the island of Newfoundland to Nova Scotia. With office locations in both provinces, ENL is committed to ensuring that the Maritime Link transmits clean, renewable energy for Nova Scotia.

The opportunity: We are currently looking for a Manager, Regulatory and Compliance to join our Emera Newfoundland and Labrador Regulatory team. Reporting to the General Counsel & VP, Business Development, the Manager will be responsible for collaborating with members of ENL to ensure assigned regulatory initiatives are completed accurately and on time.
Accountabilities:
- Lead Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board document submissions, collaborating with team members to compile applicable filing information, contributing to strategic considerations and drafting of submissions.
- Provide regulatory guidance and direction, ensuring that contents of filings meet the regulator’s requirements.
- Manage and oversee overall compliance with legal obligations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and respond to data requests from stakeholders within specified timelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in law, engineering or business (economics, finance, commerce) or equivalent experience is required in this role.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience: suitable experience could come from a combination of different areas including regulatory compliance, legal, policy development, engineering or regulatory finance.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex, long-term projects with flexibility to achieve outcomes within strict timeframes is vital to this position.
- Possesses a track record in fostering effective working relationships with colleagues and external contacts to achieve company priorities.
- Exceptional writing, planning, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to senior leaders and leadership objectives to project teams.
