About the role
Bourgault Industries, is seeking a hands-on Production/Tooling Engineering Intern to support our manufacturing operations through tooling design, process optimization, and production support. This 12 or 16 month internship offers practical experience in CAD modeling, time studies, and continuous improvement within a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tooling design and CAD drafting.
- Support tooling fabrication, testing, and implementation.
- Maintain BOMs, routing data, and tooling documentation.
- Conduct time studies and support process improvements.
- Perform inventory checks and update tooling records.
- Contribute to plant layout planning and workflow optimization.
- Assist with cost and feasibility analysis for tooling and equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support production and reduce waste.
Academic/Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical or industrial preferred) and eligible for your college’s internship program.
Required Skills/Experience
- Basic proficiency in CAD software and willingness to develop advanced design skills.
- Understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, and tooling design.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with a desire to learn and contribute to process improvements.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, shop-floor environment.

Wage Range
$26.00 to $30.00 – Starting wage is dependent on experience.
