Physical Education and Health****Teacher
Part-Time (0.5714 FTE), Term position
Rockridge Secondary School
Effective September 8th, 2026 until the return of the absent
teacher
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
A part-time position (0.5714 FTE) teaching PHE 8-10 is available.
**_Required Qualifications and Experience _ **
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching the BC Physical Education and Health Curriculum:
- Solid understanding of the BC Ministry curriculum and learning standards within PHE.
- Ability to evaluate and report on student progress using Ministry of Education and IB MYP assessment standards and practices.
- A willingness to work collaboratively with the IB MYP Coordinator and other classroom teachers to authentically develop IB MYP units of study.
- A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
- Proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate.
