Job Details
The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Engineering department as a Growth Infrastructure Engineer.
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, Land and Integrated Infrastructure Services, this position will be responsible for supporting the orderly and efficient expansion of municipal infrastructure to accommodate long term city growth. The candidate will leverage broad multidisciplinary engineering across various fields including transportation, utilities, geotechnical, with additional consideration towards land planning, finance, and environmental to provided strategic oversight ensuring future infrastructure systems are appropriately sized, aligned, and staged to accommodate long term City growth.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering combined with 7 years of progressive experience in Municipal, Civil, or Land Development Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation and in good standing with APEGA.
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal engineering design standards is required.
- Experience with ArcGIS is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Hours of Work
- We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).
- Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Compensation
- The salary ranges from $103,373 – $125,825 per year, including a comprehensive benefits package with a flexible spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation starting at 3 weeks per year.

- Candidates not meeting the full qualifications may be considered for a development opportunity at a lower classification and salary.
