Position Overview:

The HSE Advisor is responsible for undertaking all health, safety, and environmental functions at REV. The expectation of the HSE Advisor is to establish and ensure the maintenance of the required quality systems meet contractual requirements and that they are acceptable to our customers. Administering the HSE program, the HSE Advisor will establish an HSE program that meets the requirements of all applicable laws, regulations, statutes and codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, coordinate and administer all aspects of the HSE programs ensuring that they meet or exceed all customer requirements and expectations.
  • Design and administer HSE plans, policies and procedures at all levels to ensure all activities are in compliance with program requirements and suitable for effectively achieving managements goals and objectives.
  • Interface with all departments within REV and act as a primary point of contact with customers and suppliers in HSE-related issues.
  • Represent the HSE function in HSE-related issues with vendor, supplier and customer organizations as required.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager to ensure REV`s goals and objectives are met.
  • Performs all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in REV’s Safety and Human Resources Policy Manual.
  • Performs duties according to REV’s quality system procedures and work instructions.

Technical

  • In depth knowledge on Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and Alberta Health and Safety legislation.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety program requirements such as administration of rules, Safety committees, waste disposal, etc.

Health, Safety & Environmental Duties include (not all inclusive)

  • HSE documented program in accordance with all applicable laws, acts and regulations.
  • Maintain the HSE program in accordance with company policies as directed.
  • Maintain all compliance websites as required by customers.
  • Perform all administrative functions required by the HSE Program.
  • Carry out facility inspections as required by the HSE program.
  • Perform the internal audit function of the HSE program to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and management`s stated policies and objectives.
  • Document and report all non-conformance and improvement opportunities to the responsible manager following all inspections or audit activities.
  • Maintain cognizance of the applicable laws, statues, acts and codes while submitting program changes to management to ensure compliance.
  • Implement all authorized changes to the HSE program documentation.
  • Perform follow up audits to ensure the effectiveness of all the changes, revisions and amendments.
  • Carry out other assigned duties that may have an impact on the policies, objectives, and customer relations, (internally and externally), as they pertain to personal environment, health and safety.
  • Responsible to ensure all HSE training is completed including WHMIS, HSE policies and procedures, and any other training deemed necessary for the safety of all employees and required by governmental laws and statutes.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary completion of a diploma training program at a College or Technical Institution in health and safety preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or electrical field or an equivalent combination of education and three (3) years of directly related work experience.
  • Proven training in and have a good working knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environment Standards.
  • Proven training as an Internal Health and Safety Auditor and experienced in maintaining a Health & Safety System.
  • Proven background in organizational and process planning, with experience in writing Health & Safety procedures and maintenance control procedures in support of company policies.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in support of continuous improvement in a team-based environment.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with experience utilizing the Microsoft Office software components.
