Job Description Mechanical – Engineering Co-op Student 1 position available ( 8-month term, January - August 2026) for the Langley location StandardAero is a state-of-the-art helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul provider for Engines, Dynamic Components, Structures and Avionics.
We have ONE immediate opening for an eight-month term Mechanical Engineer Co-op Student for the Engineering Department. This position will be based out of the Langley, British Columbia facility and will report to the Director, Engineering – Langley.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Creation and updating of Mechanical Drawings in Solidworks.
- Creation and updating of Work Instructions, and Manuals in support of the design, development and implementation of aircraft modifications and tooling design.
- Assist in the collection of aircraft project data (inspection, performance, vibration, trend analysis) and prepare reports.
- Assist in the creation and amending required manufacturing documentation and data.
- Assisting with First Article Activities for new manufacturing products.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of documents such as aircraft ICAs, ELA’s, FMS’, Major Modification reports and engineering reports.
- Record keeping, filing and data entry, research projects.
- Miscellaneous projects on an as-needed basis.
Applicable competencies, aptitudes and qualifications:
- Working towards a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed technical reports and specifications.
- Strong working knowledge with MS Office, AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment.
- Hands-on electrical or mechanical experience is an asset.
