As a Senior Project Manager:

You will be a strategic delivery leader responsible for managing complex, cross-functional initiatives that support Meridian’s Horizon 2 transformation and Horizon 3 innovation goals. This includes leading both business transformation and complex IT projects that drive enterprise-wide impact.

The role demands excellence in delivery execution, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for project-level benefits realization planning and management, ensuring that intended outcomes are defined, tracked, and achieved. They also lead project governance and risk management, navigating bimodal governance models and applying the Project Risk Framework to ensure compliance and continuity.

Success in this role is defined by the ability to consistently deliver strategic projects that achieve measurable benefits, mitigate risks proactively, and embed continuous improvement into every phase of delivery. The Senior Project Manager builds trust with stakeholders, enables team performance, and contributes to a culture of innovation and accountability across the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).

What you will do:

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects aligned to Horizon 2 (transformation) and Horizon 3 (innovation) priorities.
  • Manage business transformation and complex IT projects using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and enable team performance as Scrum Master when required.
  • Accelerate project delivery through AI tools, automation, and digital workflows.
  • Oversee project financials, resource planning, and vendor coordination.

Benefits Realization & Project Governance

  • Define, track, and achieve project-level benefits in alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Develop dashboards and mechanisms to monitor benefit achievement.
  • Integrate benefits realization into Steering Committee discussions and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with EPMO governance, risk management frameworks, and business continuity standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with executives, business owners, and delivery teams.
  • Lead change enablement activities to drive adoption and sustainment of project outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions and change readiness assessments.

Continuous Improvement & Mentoring

  • Lead retrospectives and lessons learned sessions, embedding improvements into delivery frameworks.
  • Mentor Project Managers to build EPMO capabilities and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.

How you will succeed:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery models.
  • Advanced proficiency in project planning, execution, and benefits realization.
  • Expertise in risk identification, mitigation, and compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Digital fluency: skilled in AI tools, automation, low-code/no-code platforms, and data visualization.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching project teams.

Education, Designations, and Experience

  • Postsecondary education in Business, Technology, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive project management experience, including 3+ years in a senior role.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.

  • Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP) required.

  • Change management (e.g., Prosci) and Lean Six Sigma certifications are assets.

  • Familiarity with benefits realization frameworks (PMI’s BRM, MSP, Axelos P3M3) highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Copilot), Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and project management tools (MS Project, ADO, SharePoint).

Salary Range: CAD $95,000 - $110,000 annually

Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range.
