About the role

Job Summary

As the Program Manager for Peer to Peer (P2P) at Platform Calgary, you will lead the strategy, execution, and scaling of a high-impact program that supports the full spectrum of our membership, from early-stage founders to C-suite leaders of scaling companies. Reporting to the VP of Programming & Innovation, you will be responsible for building Calgary into a global hub for innovation by managing complex funding streams (RIN and Scale AB) and fostering a collaborative environment for professional development across the tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute a tiered cohort model that supports startups and scaleups, ensuring alignment with funding requirements. Lead outreach, scouting, and onboarding strategies to recruit participants from the Platform membership and alumni networks. Manage program operations, including facilitator recruitment, budget oversight, and the implementation of AI and automation to scale processes. Track and report program outcomes and KPIs (revenue growth, investment, jobs created) to satisfy stakeholder and funder metrics. Maintain funder compliance and stakeholder relationships, acting as a liaison between founders, partners, and internal teams. Champion IDEA initiatives and contribute to the strategic growth of the Calgary innovation ecosystem.

Position Qualifications

Must demonstrate: 5–7 years of experience in program management, startup operations, or related ecosystem support roles. A degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Program development experience, or experience as a startup founder or early team member; ideally having run programs, coached startups, or been an entrepreneur. Project management experience — coordinating many moving pieces while keeping an eye on outcomes and staying within budget. Experience designing or segmenting programs across audience stages (early-stage founders through growth-stage / C-suite leaders). Comfort with grant compliance and reporting across multiple funders, including tracking eligibility and outcomes by segment. Experience managing multiple stakeholder groups including government, venture capital, angel investors, ecosystem partners and startups. Strong background in facilitation of larger groups and building communities based on empathy and inclusion. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with teammates, founders, partners, members and others in the tech ecosystem. Competency in G-Suite, Asana, Slack, Eventbrite, HubSpot and Notion considered an asset.

What We Are Looking For

During the interview process, we will be looking for:

Community-First Mindset: You are energized by the tech ecosystem and are eager to help others build meaningful connections within our community. Bias for Action: You are execution-focused and take initiative. You enjoy solving problems independently and seeing tasks through to completion. Adaptability & Judgment: You can navigate ambiguity and fast-paced environments with ease, applying sound judgment to manage competing priorities. Collaborative Professionalism: You work effectively across different working styles and departments, maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all interactions. Continuous Improvement: You don't just follow processes, you look for ways to make them better. You are a forward-thinker who anticipates needs before they arise.

Platform Calgary Perks

A Unique Place to Work: The Platform Innovation Centre is the front door to Calgary’s tech and innovation community, home to 100+ partners dedicated to helping companies start, grow, and succeed. Innovation & Growth: Work in a space that encourages new ideas, professional development, and continuous learning. Comprehensive Benefits: We offer an excellent compensation package including group and executive benefits starting on day one, RRSP matching, plenty of time off, hybrid work opportunities, a cellular allowance, and on-site parking.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are fostering a culture of belonging that is diverse and inclusive. This begins with an equitable and accessible hiring process. We highly encourage applications from excluded and marginalized communities. You do not need to meet 100% of the qualifications to apply—if you think this could be the role for you and you bring something unique to the table, submit your application!
