Job Description: Director of Retail and Marketplace Analytics

Responsibilities:

  • Be a trusted thought partner, providing key insights through data analysis to inform strategic planning and initiative prioritization – particularly to creative and brand strategy partnership.
  • Teach, coach and train direct and indirect reports on how to best identify and evangelize the solutions driven through data, analytics, and technology available to support the strategic plans for the organization.
  • Hands-on ability to create and support executive level presentations and analyses of analytic and data solutions to support client needs
  • Independently lead the development of actionable multi-phased / year measurement, analytic or data roadmaps for clients
  • Ability to translate data/results into clear narratives for tech and non-tech audiences across different communication channels, i.e. ppt, email etc.
  • Recommend Insights to Action for strategic and long-term planning including trade-off analysis leveraging value-based measurement.
  • Collaborate with cross-agency SMEs to ensure solutions are well thought through and are client and customer centric
  • Provide thought leadership through articles, blogs, event and other marketing avenues to guide innovative and cutting-edge application of analytics and data solutions
  • Identify opportunities for cross-solutioning within clients
  • Assess market trends and incorporate external insights to recommend potential products and market level opportunities.
  • Manage and nurture multiple existing, lead and growth account opportunities across Merkle and dentsu network
  • Develop depth and breadth of understanding of solutions and offerings across dentsu and Merkle
  • Lead matrixed teams through influence, collaboration and coaching

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in analytics, business consulting, data strategy and or strategic planning functions
  • 5+ years of cross-team leadership over multiple business and strategic disciplines
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Experiential (Event-Based) Analytics experience a plus
  • Creative Analytics and Measurement experience a must
  • Executive level written and oral communication
  • Highly attuned and attentive listening skills
  • Elevated EQ
  • Ability to leverage data and insights for story-telling and solution application
  • Ability to translate ambiguous requests and requirements into tangible and tactical solutions
  • Ability to explain complex analytic and data solutions in simplified language for non-technical partners
  • Ability to manage both client and agency teams to facilitate timely and actionable solutions
  • High level of business acumen and the ability to comprehend business challenges and identify analytic and data led solutions
  • Understanding of broad spectrum of analytic tools, solutions and technologies and their application to business action

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 CAD. Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills. A range of medical, dental, RRSP, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available to all permanent employees.
