The Role
We are looking for an Application Architect to lead the design and oversight of critical application architectures for digital transformation projects across the Canadian public sector. You’ll collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable solutions that modernize legacy systems and deliver reliable digital services to our clients.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Advise on and enforce organizational standards, governance and compliance requirements.
- Provide application and infrastructure support in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Oversee product solutions from application architecture through to production system design.
- Offer expert guidance to development teams regarding code design and technical decision-making.
- Collaborate with the team to implement infrastructure within the AWS Cloud environment.
- Work alongside the Security Engineer and Technical Architect during audits, release/change management reviews and SA&A processes.
- Help define and implement effective tools and processes to ensure data is available when and where required.
- Validate requirements and review technical specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 5+ years’ experience leading architecture, design, and development of AWS cloud applications as an Application, Solution, or Enterprise Architect, or Senior Technical Lead.
- 3+ years’ experience supporting production applications, focusing on compliance, security, standards and IT service management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience working on technology projects within the Canadian public sector, with a strong understanding of its unique processes and requirements.
- Currently based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region and possessing, or eligible to obtain, Government of Canada Reliability or Secret security clearance.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical teams and senior-level clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
