About the role
The workplaces are the Recreation Centre, 60, Roosevelt Avenue and the outdoor municipal pool, 1000 Dunkirk Road. The work schedule is variable.
Job Description The work consists of planning, preparing, coordinating and overseeing all aquatics-related activities.
EXAMPLES OF TASKS PERFORMED
- Assists the Supervisor - Aquatic activities.
- Coordinates, supervises and evaluates the staff, courses, activities and material (first aid supplies, teaching materials, chemical products, etc.).
- Ensures the water quality is maintained.
- Provides good customer service.
- As required, uses various types of office equipment and the appropriate software to perform certain job-related tasks.
- Performs any other related tasks.
SCOPE The employee is usually required to prioritize their daily activities. The work is occasionally checked during the realization and verified regularly.
Required Training And Experience Certificates of competence :
- National Lifeguard;
- Swim instructor (Life saving society);
- Lifesaving instructor;
- Lifesaving and CPR/AED;
- Aquatic Emergence Care (a plus).
Experience :
Two (2) years’ experience in aquatic settings (public or private pools).
Requirements
- Bilingual*;
- General knowledge of Word and Excel software;
- Knowledge of water quality management;
- Valid driver’s licence;
- Strong skills in public relations and interpersonal relations;
- Passing grade on the admission examinations.
- Knowledge of English is a requirement due to possible interactions with the Town’s residents.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
- From February to April 2026 (part time)
- From May to end of September 2026 (full time)
Mandatory training sessions:
- Attendance at training courses is mandatory.
- The schedule will be submitted at the end of April.
