Come grow with us...North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are looking for a Licenced Millwright to join our team! Hours of work are based on a rotating Days (7:00am – 3:30PM) and Afternoons (3:10pm – 11:40pm) schedule.

Position summary:
The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant production equipment, support equipment and building related assets. Primary duty is to ensure that all related equipment is always ready to run at peak efficiency and to facilitate preventative, predictive and general maintenance and complete repairs when deficiencies are found. Works with engineering, production and quality departments to support internal and external customers.

The position duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains equipment in a like new, “ready to run” condition
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance as directed by the maintenance manager
  • Performs scheduled repairs as directed by the maintenance manager
  • Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical breakdowns as needed and completes repairs following NASG best practices
  • Uses data and proven facts to identify root cause
  • Completes detailed electronic work orders daily ensuring all work is documented, with accurate descriptions of the root cause and what was done to repair the problem
  • Works in safe manner following all internal and external policies and regulations and is a leader in safe work practices
  • Supports the design and implementation of improvements to new and existing equipment to countermeasure previous breakdowns
  • Orders or suggests ordering maintenance spare parts, consumables and other maintenance supplies as needed
  • Works with outside contractors to complete projects as required
  • Effectively communicates status of repairs, projects or other work as required
  • Participates in Associate Involvement Teams and/or projects for process improvement activities
  • Suggests methods for improvements
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area
  • Must be available for overtime as required to support production needs, both with and without advance notice
  • Must be available to travel infrequently for training
  • Must be able to read/interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams
  • Must be familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Should be familiar with CAD software for electronic drawings
  • Assists in training and baseline certification of new maintenance associates

Education Requirements:

  • Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification.
  • OSSD or equivalent.

Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge, experience working with stamping presses up to 2000 ton
  • Knowledge, experience working with automated high-speed assembly equipment
  • Knowledge, experience working with automated resistance welding
  • Knowledge, experience working with robotic GMAW weld cells
  • Knowledge, experience with PLC based control systems
  • Knowledge, experience working with hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, accumulators and controls
  • Knowledge, experience working with pneumatic systems, air compressors, valves, tanks, pressure vessels and controls
  • Knowledge, experience working with power transmission, gears, chains, belts, bearings, gear reducers
  • Strong manufacturing electrical background
  • Strong manufacturing maintenance background
  • Strong troubleshooting experience, 5-why and root cause analysis
  • Robot programing skills helpful
