Veterinary Technician, RVT

Downtown Animal Hospital is a fully AAHA-accredited small animal practice located in the heart of Toronto. We’re proud to deliver exceptional care to our patients and personalized service to our clients — and we’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing team!

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our medical team, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery
• Performing technical procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, and lab diagnostics
• Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
• Educating and supporting clients with empathy and professionalism
• Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
• Upholding hospital standards aligned with AAHA protocols and best practices

You’ll be supported every step of the way — especially if you’re a new grad. We love helping early-career RVTs grow their confidence and skills.

What are we looking for:

• Has completed an accredited Veterinary Technician/Technologist program
• Is registered (or eligible for registration) with the provincial association
• Are you preparing for the VTNE? We’ll help you get there!
• Knows anesthesia, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care
• Communicates clearly and compassionately with clients and colleagues
• Brings strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude
• Is passionate about learning and dedicated to continuous improvement
