Downtown Animal Hospital is a fully AAHA-accredited small animal practice located in the heart of Toronto. We’re proud to deliver exceptional care to our patients and personalized service to our clients — and we’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing team!
Whether you're an experienced RVT or a new graduate preparing for your VTNE, we offer the mentorship, training, and support you need to thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of our medical team, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery
- Performing technical procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement, radiographs, and lab diagnostics
- Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
- Educating and supporting clients with empathy and professionalism
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Upholding hospital standards aligned with AAHA protocols and best practices
You’ll be supported every step of the way — especially if you’re a new grad. We love helping early-career RVTs grow their confidence and skills.
What are we looking for:
- Has completed an accredited Veterinary Technician/Technologist program
- Is registered (or eligible for registration) with the provincial association
- Are you preparing for the VTNE? We’ll help you get there!
- Knows anesthesia, radiology, pharmacy, and patient care
- Communicates clearly and compassionately with clients and colleagues
- Brings strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude
- Is passionate about learning and dedicated to continuous improvement
