About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations, this role is responsible for the operational management, maintenance, and optimization of CLBC's Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. The role ensures system availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency, while also supporting Salesforce system administration and NetScaler environments. With deep expertise in AWS administration, networking, and disaster recovery, this position drives the continuous improvement of cloud operations across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Deploys, manages, and operates scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant systems on AWS platform
- Configures and manages various AWS services (IaaS and PaaS), including but not limited to, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, EBS, and Auto Scaling
- Monitors system health, performance and availability using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Designs, configures, and manages WS networking components, including but not limited to Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, route tables, internet gateways, NAT gateways, VPN connections, Direct Connect
- Ensures proper network segmentation, connectivity and security within the AWS environment
- Troubleshoots network connectivity and performance issues within AWS
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of Salesforce platform and other cloud related infrastructure, platform, software
- Provides support to Salesforce administration team to ensure timely completion of projects and smooth delivery of application functions to end users. services
- Leads the design, implementation, and optimization of highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure (cloud and/or on-prem)
- Defines infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and operational best practices
- Evaluates and recommends new technologies, tools, and platforms aligned with business goals
- Acts as a technical lead and escalation point for SysOps and support teams
- Mentors junior specialists and promote best practices
- Collaborates with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to deliver reliable platforms
- Designs, implements, and manages robust backup and disaster recovery strategies for AWS and Salesforce environments
- Configures and manages AWS Backups, S3, Glacier, and other relevant services for data protection
- Maintain data backup lifecycle as per the defined policy
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field with ten (10) years of proven experience in system administration on various platforms, out of which at least three (3) years as an AWS SysOps Administrator or similar role
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training with fifteen (15) years of experience may be considered Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Certifications in one or more of the following: AWS, Azure, Microsoft, Linux, or Salesforce etc.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions on different platforms
- AWS relevant certifications required
We are also looking for:
- Strong understanding of AWS and other cloud related infrastructure, platform, software services
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure
- Familiarity with Salesforce administration and its core functionalities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- A thorough understanding of various cloud deployment models (Iaas, PaaS, SaaS) on AWS and Salesforce platforms
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and services quickly
