Nature & Scope:
The Commercial Property Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and performing all aspects of commercial property cleaning operations. This hands-on role involves supervising cleaning crews, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, managing client relationships, and reporting on operational performance.
The Commercial Property Cleaning Supervisor is also responsible for developing and implementing cleaning strategies and team capabilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining strong communication between staff, management, and clients.
Major Accountabilities:
Supervisory & Leadership Duties
- Supervise, lead, and motivate cleaning staff to ensure productivity and service quality.
- Assign daily cleaning tasks, coordinate work schedules, and adjust coverage as required.
- Conduct training and provide ongoing coaching on cleaning techniques, equipment uses, and safety compliance.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and escalate performance issues when necessary.
- Support the development of new team members.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for staff and clients.
Cleaning & Maintenance Tasks:
- Perform pressure washing, surface cleaning, and graffiti removal on commercial properties.
- Conduct and oversee post-job quality checks to ensure all work meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and techniques for different surfaces to achieve optimal results.
- Operate and supervise the safe use of mechanical sweepers, power washers, and other cleaning equipment.
- Conduct and oversee routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Apply cleaning and sanitization treatments as required to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or property damage encountered during cleaning tasks
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all staff adhere to workplace safety policies and use appropriate PPE.
- Conduct safety briefings and reinforce compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to company policies.
- Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or operational risks.
Customer Service & Professionalism:
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients.
- Address client concerns promptly, escalating to management if necessary.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with customer requirements and company standards.
Scheduling & Work Flexibility:
- Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned cleaning tasks.
- Be flexible with work schedules, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Adapt to changing job requirements and locations based on client needs.
- Track attendance, timekeeping, and task completion for reporting purposes.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on operations, staff performance, and client feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in commercial cleaning, pressure washing, or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to operate mechanical sweepers and other cleaning equipment (training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and flexibility to adapt to rapid change
- Well-organized, quick to respond and highly customer focused.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of property-specific cleaning challenges, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Physically capable of handling equipment and performing manual labor.
- A valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
