THE POSITION

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) Digital Department is seeking an Associate Digital Producer. This is an entry-level position with a primary focus on the NLL’s Roughnecks and CFL’s Stampeders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to the Manager of Social Media, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Producing and executing a comprehensive in-season and off-season content strategy for the Roughnecks;

  • Producing, editing and posting content for all Roughnecks digital (web) and social media platforms;

  • Coordinating and assisting in various Roughnecks video production projects;

  • Reporting on Stampeders news, including leadup to game and game-night social media and content production;

  • Working with the CSEC sales, partnership and marketing teams on delivering digital initiatives for Roughnecks, Stampeders and other CSEC teams;

  • Assisting in content production and posting for other CSEC teams, including the Flames;

  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • Post-Secondary degree in Journalism/New Media and a minimum of 2 years’ experience writing and/or editing in the sports field;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Creativity and ability to work with tight timelines;

  • Familiarity and flair with social media platforms and trends;

  • Ability to multitask and work quickly and efficiently in a team environment;

  • Strong lacrosse, football and hockey knowledge an asset;

  • Website design knowledge, digital design skills and the ability to work in online Content Management Systems are considered assets;

  • Flexibility in schedule is important to this role as the chosen candidate will be required to work nights and weekends.
