The RoleWe are currently seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to work on a project located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is a great opportunity to be mentored by a knowledgeable and experienced Site Superintendent so you can grow your construction supervisory skills.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting project planning and assisting with work sequencing to ensure efficient site operations

  • Helping produce and maintaining look-ahead schedules, coordinating daily and weekly activities to keep the project on track

  • Assisting in coordinating subcontractor work and participating in regular site meetings to supporting communication, timelines, and cost control

  • Monitoring site manpower levels and reporting any gaps to ensuring safety, schedule, and quality targets are met

  • Supporting the implementation of the company safety program in collaboration with the Safety Director, and helping monitor subcontractor compliance

  • Assisting with quality control inspections to ensuring work meets project standards and specifications

  • Maintaining accurate daily logs and assisting with job control documentation

  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technologist certification, or equivalent experience

  • A carpentry background or related construction experience would be considered an asset

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Capacity to efficiently prioritize and work under tight deadlines

  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word and Excel

  • Experience in construction, drawings, and specifications
