At our Cambridge Facility, we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment companies. We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, assembly department, and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.
Job Summary: As a Painter, the incumbent is responsible for preparation of and painting parts assigned in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Setting up the paint booth for various paint jobs
- Assisting in the training of other painters to properly operator and utilize the paint booth
- Inspect equipment for cleanliness and damage
- Clean, wash, and sanding of parts to remove corrosion
- Fill dents and imperfections, or prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective coatings
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints according to a pre-determined formula or customer specifications.
- Operate hand held spray gun to spray paint or coat stationary items with a protective coating in spray booth.
- Ensure painted surfaces meet Quality Standards, Customer Standards, and Paint Manufacture requirements in order to meet all Warranty Standard
- Maintain clean, orderly work areas – daily 5S
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety regulations and Company Policies & Procedures
Educational Requirements:
- Grade Twelve education or equivalent.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Previous work related experience industry related or automotive paint finishes, bodywork, and prepping parts
- Detailed oriented with high standards in quality.
- Excellent communication skills written & verbal
- Knowledge of correct ratios relating to paint mixtures / thinners / catalyst / cure times / coat density.
Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:
- Hand held spray paint gun
