The Warehouse Operator is responsible for efficiently handling and moving goods within our newly constructed 30,000 sq ft cold storage facility! Key duties include operating a forklift and other material handling equipment (e.g. power walkie), retrieving and organizing skids, preparing shipments, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The role requires adherence to all health, safety, and food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move goods within the warehouse to prepare for packing or loading / unloading.
- Retrieve, organize, and rotate finished goods using FIFO method.
- Assist with order preparation including wrapping, weighting, and 3PL coordinator.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Report inventory discrepancies and food safety issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2-3 years' experience operating a forklift and power walkie.
- Proven to be a safe and competent Operator.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Valid forklift license an asset (in house certification available).
- Warehouse experience in temperature controlled environments an asset.
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
- Reach truck license an asset.
