Account Manager- Packaging
About the role
Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment.
We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 13 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demo sites.
We are currently looking for a full-time Account Manager, Packaging located in Vancouver, reporting to the Sales Manager, Packaging & Facility Solution, Western Region.
Your Challenge:
Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, Packaging & Facility Solution, Western Region, the duties and responsibilities of the Account Manager, Packaging include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for financial and market share growth by achieving or exceeding the sales and gross profit dollar targets set during forecasting sessions and expanding account base
- Promotion and sale of packaging, warehouse equipment and supplies (through prospecting, cold calling and existing clients)
- Providing customers with information regarding new products, promotions, etc.
- Collaborating with our manufacturing divisions to ensure product placement and applications meet customer needs
- Addressing customer requests and inquiries promptly and professionally
- Conducting market research
- Assist management in developing sales forecasts and offer recommendations for areas of improvement in Company strategies, markets, products, and service
- Attending sales meetings
- Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new clients
- Participating in continuing education and staying abreast of developments in the applicable areas and on upcoming products and initiatives within client base
- Other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications:
- Determined;
- Coachable;
- Willingness to learn our products and sales processes;
- Comfortable making cold calls either in person or on the telephone;
- Capability to present solutions to customers in a professional manner;
- Industry knowledge considered an asset;
- Minimum 3+ years Business to Business Sales;
- Ability to identify and maintain knowledge of key contacts within the region and establish multi-level relationships;
- Proficient in using MS Office;
- Strong organization skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to develop key clients, agency and industry relationships at all levels;
- Creative “out-of-the-box” thinking;
- Strong organization and time-management skills;
- Punctual, dependable, and reliable;
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work independently;
- Self-directed and self-motivated; and
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Working Conditions
- Able to work on a computer for numerous hours which may result in strain on wrists, eyes, back, etc.;
- Ability to work in a busy, open area office;
- May have to spend long hours in concentration which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
- This position faces a number of deadlines which may cause stress; and
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
