Starting as a small family owned and operated business in Edmonton Alberta in 1982 to offering full service janitorial and building maintenance across Canada today. Business hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm with flexibility needed as business needs fluctuate.
This is a hybrid role (Monday, Wednesday, Friday in Office)

What Your Day To Day Will Look Like You will be reporting into the President
- Manage a team of 6 Health and Safety team members
- Provide leadership and management all members of the Health and Safety team
- Demonstrate Health and Safety team to the organization, modelling appropriate behaviour while promoting a Safety culture
- Provide Health and Safety team knowledge and coaching to internal stakeholders ensuring that they maintain an awareness of regulations and policies and are promoting a Safety culture within their own teams
- Work with all members of the management team as a “trusted advisor” providing coaching and support as required
- Seek to find the root cause of challenges and present viable solutions
- Develop, update and manage all workplace safety procedures, programs and polices for the company.
- Consistently monitor and update the HSE policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with legislation and create a safe work environment
- Prepare and perform internal and external audits for COR certification
- Perform site inspections as required, to ensure that all safety programs are implemented accordingly
- Provide assistance to set up training for all employees on specialty programs
- Implement and maintain all HSE training programs
- Implement and maintain all HSE training programs
- Educate the organization on root causes and trends that arise from the incident investigation.
- Research and administer safety guidelines accordingly for implementation of the best safety policies
- Practice and coach on Safety language and continue to evolve the Safety Culture
What You'll Need To Succeed
- A minimum of 7 years progressive experience in Health and Safety with previous experience in a leadership role is required
- Must possess outstanding knowledge of Occupational Safety legislation, and Health and Safety best practices
- Completion of post-secondary education in Health and Safety is preferred
- Must hold a CRSP designation
- Must be first aid certified and certified as a WHMIS instructor
- Must hold certification as an ASCA COR Auditor
- Previous experience providing safety leadership in an environment with sub-contractors would be an asset
- WHIMIS Train the Trainer certification would be an asset
- Understanding of adult learning styles in an asset

- 20 minute preliminary phone interview with our Recruiter
- 20-40 minute assessment (depending on optional practice questions or breaks)
- 30 minute MS Teams video interview with the Hiring Manager and direct Supervisor for the role
