Position: Senior Associate / Advisor, Corporate Outreach

Compensation Details:
- Stakeholder Relations 15: Salaries typically range from $65, 172 to $86, 898 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
- Stakeholder Relations 17: Salaries typically range from $84, 698 to $112, 931 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from our Community Hub located in Calgary**.**
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:
The Corporate Outreach team builds and maintains EDC relationships with relevant stakeholder groups for the corporation working to create opportunities for 2-way thought leadership exchange, for gathering market insights and for developing meaningful connections. The role of the Senior Associate/Advisor is to support the design, execution and evaluation of Corporate and Executive outreach strategies in this context and aligned with EDC’s strategic objectives.
Working closely with the senior members of the team and cross-functionally, the candidate will support the execution of outreach activities involving key players in Canada’s international trade ecosystem, such as business and industry associations, chambers of commerce, civil society organizations, think tanks and other relevant stakeholders. This includes both proactive and reactive outreach opportunity development, assessment, design and delivery.
The team works in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities requiring agility and flexibility. The below gives a sense of the role description while the breadth of accountabilities can vary based on an evolving environment.
What you will be doing:
Stakeholder Engagement:
-
Support the development and execution of plans which enable EDC’s engagement with key stakeholders.
-
Support the team in the delivery of sponsorship and partnership opportunities, which includes negotiating mutually beneficial terms and processing outcomes through internal procurement processes.
-
Research and assess stakeholder and outreach opportunities and develop recommendations.
-
Assess impact of delivered sponsorships and partnership agreements as part of retrospective and renewal processes.
Executive Outreach:
-
Develop and design outreach opportunities for the senior leadership team and other key roles in the organization, namely in large conferences, smaller roundtables, as well as bilateral meetings.
-
Prepare supporting materials including briefing notes, event scenarios and agendas for executive outreach.
-
Work with the Communications team and subject matter experts across a variety of teams to support senior leadership speaking engagements and meetings.
-
Contribute to team’s executive outreach planning.
Outreach Support:
-
Conduct ongoing data entry, maintain trackers and databases related to stakeholder information and workflow management and extract data for use in various reports as required.
-
Coordinate sponsored and stakeholder events including identifying, liaising and securing attendees, procurement and invoice processing, as well as support related to corporate responses to external inquires.
Continuous Improvement:
-
Support in the improvement of the teams’ systems, trackers and reporting.
-
Support the evolution of team relationship management practices, including account planning practices.
-
Suggest innovative approaches to delivery, including considering how to use new technologies (i.e. AI) to bring efficiencies to deliverables.
What we are looking for:
-
Undergraduate degree in public affairs, business, communications or other relevant discipline.
-
Minimum 2 years (level 15) or 5+ years (level 17) of experience in public affairs, international affairs and/or stakeholder relations, or related experience.
-
Knowledge of EDC’s mandate and Canada’s trade ecosystem.
-
Comfortable working cross functionally and with various levels of leadership.
-
Strong writing and communication skills.
-
Exposure to relationship management disciplines.
-
Solid knowledge of MS Office Software Systems (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Sharepoint.
What will make you stand out:

Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)

Master’s degree in public affairs, business administration, communications, program management, public administration or related field.

Experience in developing, negotiating, and managing corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
-
Network and experience working with a variety of business, industry, civil society organizations with a focus on international trade.
-
Experience in project management or event delivery.
-
Knowledge of ADO Azure DevOps.
-
Exposure to new emerging AI tools.
