Essential Functions

BOM and Drawing Management/Improvement

Create, update, and maintain BOMs in ERP accurately.

Take the initiative in updating/fixing BOMs based on ECN/DCN or by any requests raised.

Create, maintain, and update Manufacturing Drawings accurately following the Company’s instructions applying GD&T.

Create, update, and maintain instructions for ERP BOM setups, manufacturing drawings, or any manufacturing engineering standardization under the direction of Operations Process Manager.

Evaluate current manufacturing procedures and suggest effective ways to eliminate wastefulness in manufacturing processes.

Manufacturing/Production Technical Leadership

Serve as primary technical escalation point for complex production issues.

Support Process Engineer for root cause investigations related to downtime, quality issues, and process instability.

Develop and optimize nesting programs and machine programming strategies.

Evaluate tooling, fixtures, and equipment performance; recommend and implement improvements.

Assist Process Engineer for validating standard cycle times; identify opportunities for throughput improvement.

Identify and implement practical process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Support new product introduction and process validation activities.

ECN & DCN

Conduct ECN and DCN procedures including obsoletions and supersessions as requested by Operations Process Manager.

Make sure the accuracy of adjustments in designs, cut profiles, machine programs, ERP setups.

Mentorship & Team Support

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Junior Manufacturing Technician(s).

Review and validate work completed by junior team member(s).

Promote adherence to manufacturing standards and best practices.

Required Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office suite.

Strong proficiency in computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD.

Advanced experience with nesting and machine programming software such as SigmaNEST, AMADA, Tru Tops, Bysoft 7, or Prima is considered an asset.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.

Effective communicator across production, engineering and management levels.

Preferred Education and Experience

Technical diploma or equivalent hands-on experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline is considered an asset.

5+ years of progressive experience in the Manufacturing field.

Demonstrated experience leading technical troubleshooting and process improvement.

Experience in ISO or IATF environments is considered an asset.

Experience with ERP system preferred.
