What you will be doing: Tangerine Bank is seeking a strategic and hands-on Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex business and technology initiatives, with emphasis on AI-driven capabilities. This hands-on leadership role requires deep experience in managing cross-functional teams, navigating both Agile and Waterfall environments, and delivering high-impact solutions across mobile, web, backend services, APIs, infrastructure and cloudification, which are in alignment with the Enterprise Technology Roadmap. Familiarity with banking products and services is an asset. The PM ensures key metrics provide the basis for teams to deliver quality customer experiences, in a timely manner building and fostering a culture of transparency focused on the ability to inspect and adapt as needed. The project manager collaborates with product, engineering, design and our business partners ensuring that software delivery is on time, on budget and in a way that meets the business expectations. The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of all project artifacts, risk assessments and will conduct projects in accordance with Tangerine delivery standards and follow Project Management methodology.
Is this role right for you?
- Own the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of business and Tangerine projects aligned with enterprise strategy
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, product, and business functions to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
- Drive AI-related initiatives, including CRM enhancements, intelligent automation, and data-driven decisioning
- Facilitate portfolio delivery strategy and product roadmap discussions. Enable stakeholders to arrive at a delivery schedule, prioritization and resource planning to deliver the product roadmap
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with SDLC and internal delivery frameworks, producing all required project artifacts
- Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all levels
- Foster a culture of transparency, adaptability, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with external partners including vendors, regulators, and Scotiabank teams
- Build strong relationships with IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and support
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- University or College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline
- 7+ years of experience directly managing business and/or technology projects, preferably in the Canadian banking industry
- Experience delivering technology and infrastructure products is a must have
- Experience and familiarity with waterfall & Agile delivery methodologies is a must
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use MS Office Suite (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of delivery tools for effective workflow visualization and management (Jira, Confluence, Service Now etc.)
- Proven ability to lead project teams consisting of a variety of resources; business and technology, local, remote, internal and third party
- Demonstrated experience utilizing software development and project management methodologies
- Proven ability to independently manage small and medium size business and technology projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
- Project Management certification (PMP) or equivalent PM certification is considered an asset
